Panel discussion on Emergency Crowd Management

Short description of the talk:

The presentation will showcase and explain the benefits and necessities to include crowd science in projects bringing together large numbers of people. Events like festivals, sports or concerts and especially major transport projects need to operate highly efficient to coop with the demands of today´s population and society. The reasons for sudden failure and its consequences are complex. They need to be understood, however, to ensure the right measures are regarded in the stages of design, information and management. The talk will highlight examples, that were able to adapt to foreseeable challenges and others that were doomed to fail under the growing demand.

Short bio:

Marcel Altenburg has an extensive background in command and control as well as critical incident management. As Manchester Metropolitan University fellow he provides crowd science solutions regarding safety, risk and efficiency for projects around the globe.
